Pastels, Petals and Stripes

Welcome to June and our new Take 3 Challenge prompts!
This month we are working with pastels as our colours, using flowers as our theme and adding stripes to our makes. This is a lovely combo and I thought that I would put a few easy cards together to help get you started :)

These 3 cards feature different ways to incorporate stripes in to your projects with masking, stencils and washi tape.
First up I decided to use different widths of masking tape across the cardfront before blending over them with Kitsch Flamingo, Mustard Seed, Salvaged Patina and Cracked Pistachio distress oxide inks. With the tape still in place I inked over the beautiful Bountiful stencil to create a floral pattern.

I love how it looks when the masking tape is removed! To complete the card I simply stencilled some of the flowers on a separate piece of white card and cut them out. I popped them up with foam tape and added a simple sentiment from our Sentimental Sticker Stack.
On my next card I decided to use papers from our Sherbet Fizz paper pad as they are perfect for the pastel colour scheme and also provide a great base for stencilling and stamping over :) I used the new Simple Petals stencil and our Bold Borders to add flowers and stripes to the papers before cutting them in to 4 panels. I stamped the Inky Bloom stamps over the stencilled stripes.

Simply matting the panels on to black cardstock gives them definition. The black and white elements create an effective contrast with the pastel colour palette.
And on my third card I decided to add just a touch of stripes with washi tape. I used our new Broderie stencil over some of the Sherbet Fizz paper and simply stamped some inky blooms to create a card that combines pastels, flowers and stripes.
I had lots of fun making these cards - I hope you give the challenge a go this month too! To make it even easier I have put the Inky Blooms and Sherbet Fizz paper pad together in a little discounted bundle and remember to check out the new stencils too :)
Happy creating!
